Be not deceived by the faithful servant who guards the door
Step through these doors and face
she who you deem ‘fractious’
Meet her steely gaze
and tell her directly
that you challenge her authority
on the Lemurian high seas
Enter at your own risk
I would offer no challenge
save a presence neither meek
nor ego bound –
and would save my gauntlet
for a cause or quest of innocence.
Augury is oft a misused divination;
seeing gloom and threat
in every flight of raven
or falcon or dove –
honor bound authority
would forsake armed guards
and morphing personalities –
possibly gaining more from
open hand and heart
than smuggled dreams
and bilge dank soul.
but I jest, of course –
and will man the oars
and unfurl the sails –
for pure heart can find
adventure under any captaincy
Today of all days I feel more than ready, able and willing to meet the gaze of She Who Must Be Obeyed and hold myself up to my full height and presence. Perhaps she might recognize a kindred spirit???
