It’s All Matt’s fault!!

September 1, 2007

I must explain this post, it isn’t a One-Eyed Red tale.  It is one of those ‘Pirate Puns’ I have been subjecting my readers to.

The very first ‘Pirate Pun’ was from my brother Matt, every one since then was my ‘work’.

When I subjected Matt to the following pun he almost laughed in spite of himself, then groaned and said, “I’v created a monster, haven’t I?”

Where do pirates buy their spyglasses?

Why, fro’ the Aye Doctor, accourse!!

hehe-He-hehehehehehehe!!!

Zesty tells all about parrots

October 21, 2006

Zesty and MotherBeardear friends at Calbar,

Not to worry even slightly, Enchanteuer cannot make stew of my kindred. To understand why, read some of this:

THE FLOWER SONGS OF

HUNGRY COYOTE

POET OF ANCIENT MEXICO

(1402-1472)

Translations by JOHN CURLYOU, AZURE BIRD

You, azure bird, shining parrot, you walk flying. Oh Highest Arbiter, Life Giver: trembling, You extend Yourself here, filling my house, filling my dwelling, here. Ohuaya Ohuaya!

With Your piety and grace one can live, oh Author of Life, on earth: trembling, You extend Yourself here, filling my house, filling my dwelling, here. Ohuaya Ohuaya!

Parrot Magick

From KIVA’s American Indian sybolism: Parrot, connected with both the sun and with the coming of the rains.  Parrots were considered carriers of these specific prayers and would confer blessings.  Kept for their feathers and color, by many Pueblo people (secured through trade with people to the far South), and also considered a very expensive posssesion thereby denoting prosperity.

African people call the parrot AKO, and Ako the parrot is a symbol of nature’s power to rejuvenate. If you envy its red feathers and pull them out, they will soon grow back

Treasure Hunting

October 14, 2006

The Calabar is moored in the harbour of one of the islands that make up the Lemurian Archipelago and some of the crew have gone treasure hunting. Seems they have found something of interest.

Ebony’s Secret

October 11, 2006

It is difficult for a falcon to explore unseen,
giving the squawking alarm of parrots and all –
so I call on the Myrddin Falcon’s gift of
natural mimicry — shape shifting, if you will,
and flit about as a Souweth Owl,
as harmless as you please.

‘neath the foremast is a tiny shack
of hasty boards and shiny nails,
with a crack or two through which to peep.
A girl! Bound and chained? What is this?

Is Ebony in slave trade too?

Nay, I learn she is but a package
to be transported like a sack of grain …
perhaps invisible to my sisters
who would be above such things
as bartered brides.

She sings a song –
not to me, perhaps,
but to all humanity.

SOUL SONG

Look at me, just look at me, I am here inside.
You can ignore me, or embrace me, but set my soul free.
Let me walk in new birth’s garden.
Let me chase rainbow butterflies.
Stand with me at yearning sunset
To feel the timeless world go by.

Be you seeker or master
Our thoughts can be divine.
What you would claim is nothing.
What I can give is mine.

Do not look at this crumpled frame
That long strife has pulverized.
Look past the misted moonlit tears
To where the innocent child hides.
Be you weaver or poet
Join me in simple song.
What you can love is real.
What you hear is pure joy.

Look at me, just look at me, I am here inside.

I am a mirror of passion
To reflect light in shadow’s way,
If you boldly seek truth without,
Then ’tis evertime to look within.
For I am surely you
In humanity’s hold.
What we share together
Even angels cannot share.

Look at me, just look at me, I am here inside.
Stand with me at yearning sunset
To feel the timeless world go by.
